Lenovo has declared a new 11” Chromebook 3 is now available on the company’s website for $229. The latest device is joining the considerably extensive lineup of budget Chrome OS products from the brand, which includes Flex 5 for $359 and Chromebook Duet for $279.
This new model surpasses the present 14” Chromebook 3, which was also a fresh reboot of the Chromebook S340. That model is not available any more on the Lenovo store, but it had a price tag of $249.
Though the 11” screen is smaller, a couple of the specs in it are actually better than those of the 14.” For instance, the display looks a lot brighter as 14 had 220 nits, and 11 has 250. The storage has been increased to 64 GB from 32 GB. The extra storage would help the ones who download a lot of photos, apps, and other media. It takes no time for 32 GB to get eaten up.
It even comes in a new and improved color that has been described by the company as two-toned onyx black having a textured finish. The 14 came only in gray. In fact, the 11 is a lot lighter too, weighing 2.47 pounds as opposed to the 3.09 pounds of the 14. The lighter weight will be great for people who want a secondary device to carry around the house or in their backpacks. However, 11 has no touchscreen.
The 11 also has a microSD card reader, an audio jack, two USB-A ports, and two USB-C ports, like the 14. The audio jack is, in fact, a great addition that Lenovo did not have in the Duet. Both Chromebooks have a 3-cell 42Wh battery and a 720p camera.
